Evergreen Reading - live online virtual reading dyslexia tutoring for students in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade with dyslexia using science of reading methods like Orton Gillingham and Wilson.
  • Why online?

There are countless benefits to online learning. Online sessions allow for direct access to highly trained tutors with the correct credentials for working with your child. Your child will have access to highly specialized services from the comfort of your home! This is not an app or online program- each session replicates the in person experience. Technology can be very motivating for children and provides many opportunities to create engaging, gamified learning!

  • Time commitment

Sessions are either 25 or 50 minutes, depending on age. Frequency of sessions depends on the needs of your child and your preference. There is a once per week (50 min) or twice per week (25 min) minimum. We encourage a semester-long commitment, though no contracts are signed. We understand needs change. Most families stay for 1-2 years.

  • Assessments

The first tutoring session will be used to assess your child. The assessments completed are designed to determine your child's needs - meaning they will show your child’s strengths and weaknesses. We use these assessments to create an individualized learning plan. We do not diagnose for dyslexia or other learning disabilities.

  • Do I need to be sitting with my child?

Your role as a parent will be to set up a learning space that will support your child's sessions. It is helpful to have a parent nearby to assist with any technology issues, but you are not required to sit next to your child for the entire session. There will be a 5 minute block at the end of each session for parents to check in and ask questions!

  • Who is tutoring for?

Our tutoring sessions are designed for emerging readers, struggling readers, and those with an official diagnosis of dyslexia or a language-based learning disability. Many students also find learning difficult due to an ADD/ADHD diagnosis or other learning challenges. We work with students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade.

  • scheduling

We are based in Maine but work with students across the country. We offer sessions during the day for homeschool families and students in different time zones. We also offer before or after school sessions. No sessions are scheduled on the weekends.
